This supported backbend uses a block to target the chronic stiffness most of us experience in the upper back. The back is brought into a concavity which supports and lifts the chest. This pose is the perfect antidote to sitting at a desk, driving, gardening and many of the activities that have us in a rounded forward position.
Also when you are feeling a bit low, the mere act of elevating the chest in this pose, can elevate your emotions.
mat, 2 cork blocks, 1 foam block, 1 flat block. Improvise with firm folded blankets as per image above.
